Firstly, you must contact a reputable and well-connected Australian funeral home to register the death and prepare the necessary paperwork. At Blessed Funerals, we will work with you to connect with a funeral director in the receiving country and liaise with the appropriate authorities to ensure a timely and respected repatriation process.
Personal information regarding the deceased person’s identity needs to be obtained and verified along with next of kin, travel insurance, any accompanying family members and the contact details of the receiving funeral director.
Additionally, clearance from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is required, along with embalming certificates, airline confirmations, notary of documents, consular approvals, Health Department letters, medical letters, and the certified copy of the death certificate.
Blessed Funerals will collate and prepare the required documents for repatriation and work with the consulate to obtain the necessary permits.
