Organising a funeral is a difficult task for the family. It can be emotionally and physically stressful. For funeral services in New South Wales, Blessed Funerals is here to help. We are a 100% Australian, family-owned and operated funeral service provider serving the communities of Sydney and the Wollongong region.

Blessed Funerals takes care of all the requirements for a funeral so family members can say a peaceful goodbye to their loved ones.

How do funeral service providers in New South Wales help?

The funeral service providers help by planning the funeral and taking care of the involved paperwork.

The funeral director meets with the family to understand the requirements and organise the funeral service.

Here are the things funeral service providers take care of:

Meeting with the funeral director

The funeral director meets with the deceased’s family members to understand the type of funeral service they want and if they have any specific requirements.

There are often specific funeral practices that keep the family’s religious and cultural practices in mind.

Preparing for the funeral

The preparations are done upon understanding and discussing the funeral requirements. These preparations include booking the time, location and date for the funeral and finalising arrangements for the funeral. A crematorium is booked for cremation and a grave site is booked for burial. Blessed Funerals can also make arrangements for families wishing to have a religious church service. The location, date and time for the memorial can also be arranged.

Blessed Funerals can also assist the family with arranging flowers, music, catering and any other requirements they may have.

Getting your loved one ready for the funeral

Your loved one is identified and verified before the funeral. Any objects or accessories like watches, rings or any other items are removed and returned to the family, unless the family requests for these to remain with their loved one.

Transportation of your loved one

Your loved one is then transported to the place of service for the funeral service.

Submission of the legal documents and related paperwork

The legal documents or paperwork for the death certificate are submitted with the Office of Births, Death and Marriages, once the service has taken place.

Arrangements done by funeral service providers

Funeral service providers help in arranging all the products, coordinating and booking the locations and providing all necessary facilities.

They help in arranging:

  • Coffins, caskets and urns
Blessed Funerals has a wide range of coffins and caskets available. There are specific styles of coffins and caskets for different types of ceremonies. The funeral service providers can even help if the family has any special requirements and needs a personalised coffin.

Urns are needed in case of cremation, as the remains of the deceased are stored in an urn after the cremation. Urns come in different shapes and materials, including wood and metal. Depending on the preference of the family members, the funeral service providers can help find a suitable urn for your loved one.

  • Crematorium for cremation and grave site for burial
A crematorium is booked if the family wishes to have the body cremated. The funeral service providers also help in arranging a chapel if required. The entire organising for the cremation is taken care of by the funeral service providers.

If the family chooses to have a burial for their loved one, the service providers can assist in finding and purchasing the gravesite. They also help arrange the opening and closing for the burial of the body.

  • Transportation for the body and family
The funeral service providers also provide the transportation required for the funeral. They arrange the entire transportation of your loved one from the place of death to the funeral home and then to the crematorium or the cemetery or place of service.
  • Staff and required equipment
The funeral service providers arrange for staff members to help with the funeral. Blessed Funerals can also assist and guide families with arrangements for catering, venue and any other help required.

Blessed Funerals service providers are here to help you at every step and stay with you in your time of need; our family caring for your family.
